American artist Christa Joo Hyun D'Angelo lives and works in Berlin. Drawing on historical narratives and personal memory, she navigates lewd behaviors and precarious conditions and attempts to redefine what is normal while embracing difference as a source of inspiration and empowerment in order to discover new means of acceptance and healing. She has exhibited at Villa Merkel, Halle 14, Schwules Museum, Arsenal Institute for Film and Video Art, The Goethe Institut D.C. with an upcoming exhibition at Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg. Her work has been reviewed in Artforum, Art in America, and Elephant Magazine and is included in The Federal Collection of Contemporary Art Germany. She has designed sets for Fever Ray and King Kong Magazine.
